If you think you are witnessing a drug overdose, get medical help as quickly as possible. You and the overdose victim you are helping will receive immunity from criminal drug possession charges. Call 911 or take the victim to an Emergency Room; the “Good Sam Law” applies to any good faith effort to seek medical assistance.
The law also expands to the possession and administration of Narcan (Naloxone), an opioid antagonist that reverses the effect of opioids overdose.
