Directions:
From I-5, take Anacortes/Hwy 20 exit (Exit 230).
Coming from Seattle, turn left (West) under I-5 from exit; coming from Bellingham, turn right off exit and turn left at the first light onto Hwy 20. Take Hwy 20 to the intersection with La Conner-Whitney Rd. (at Farmhouse Inn). Turn left at light and follow road to LaConner, curving right as you enter town.
Take first left turn (at Washington Federal Savings), follow Maple Avenue and cross Rainbow Bridge over Swinomish Channel to Swinomish Village.
Take first right turn onto Moorage Way -- Tribal Administration Building is the second building on the right; the Office of Planning and Community Development and Fisheries are just past Tribal Administration, on the right.
Alternate routes are to follow McLean Road from Mt. Vernon to LaConner-Whitney Road, or take the Conway exit (Exit 221) and follow Fir Island Road and Chilberg Road to LaConner, the latter being more direct from Seattle but trickier to follow as it winds through Fir Island and the Skagit farmlands.
The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community is federally recognized and operates under Constitution and Bylaws adopted in 1936 pursuant to the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934.
The Swinomish Tribe is committed to improving the lives and well being of the tribal members through social and cultural programs, education, economic development, and resource protection.
The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community is located on Fidalgo Island (gateway to the San Juan Islands) in Skagit County of Washington State about 70 miles north of Seattle. The Planning Office is located across the Swinomish Channel from the town of LaConner.
